Produced by Chevy K. Chen & Christine Guenther & Victor Van Vugt
In Coproduction with Music producer Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Beth Orton, P.J. Harvey, Depeche Mode, Gogol Bordello, The Pogues, and many more), comedy producer Jim Hickox as well as Daniel Y-Li Grove, journalist turned storyteller & tech entrepreneur
Music And The Machine is a mesmerizing Vaudeville-style hybrid live and documentary production that explores the entangled web of technology, economy, music, and humanity in the digital age, seeking to answer some of the biggest questions of our time through the lens of music. It is a variety show for life in the 21st century on the steep upward incline of the hockey stick curve.
Through dynamic live discussions, comedy skits, quirky economic explainers, and electrifying live music performances, this one-of-a-kind “special” production invites a live audience on a thought-provoking journey into the clash of man versus machine. Set within a legendary venue in Las Vegas, it crackles with energy as ideas clash, humor punctuates and live music electrifies. This immersive production pushes the boundaries of form and mixes the urgency and unrepeatability of live events with extended documentary storytelling that ties these evening together into a document of the seismic shift at the rounding base of the hockey stick curve, offering a multidimensional exploration of the profound questions that define our era. With its built-in weirdness, anarchic fun, and handmade feel it is the exact polar opposite of AI generated art.
