got fire?

No Fire, no Story/no guts, no glory

FIREGLORY is a transatlantic production label with campfires in Los Angeles and Berlin.

We love big screens, we love small screens. Most of all we love thought-provoking content!

Diversity, boldness and international market-appeal is what makes us burn for a project.

What it boils down to is: Got fire?

Christine Guenther grew up in the Bavarian countryside where she talked the neighbour’s kids into playing supporting roles in her first VHS shorts poductions – and their parents into funding them. After studying American literature and linguistics, communication and political sciences, she made an excursion into the enticing wonderland of commercial production. While moving to her now 10year home base – Berlin’s Wild „Mitte“ West – she rediscovered her passion for the narrative, which includes documentary features.

As a freelancing Line Producer / UPM she line-produced Philip Gröning’s THE POLICE OFFICER’S WIFE (Special Jury Prize at the 70th Venice Film Fest), and the Israel shooting block of Pepe Danquarts RUN, BOY, RUN, Connie Walther’s FIDGETY, as well as Burhan Qurbani’s SHAHADA (Berlinale Competition) and most recently Philip Koch’s OUTSIDE THE BOX, Philip Groening’s MY BROTHER ROBERT and Jakob M. Erwa’s THE CENTER OF THE WORLD.

Susan Korda’s short SALOMEA’S NOSE (BERLINALE 2014, Cannes Court Métrage SFC, LA Shorts Fest) marked the beginning of Christine’s independent producing endeavours.

While working on European shooting blocks for Doug Liman’s COVERT AFFAIRS she met Chevy Chen, who was the foreign unit producer of the show. After years of collaboration for a variety of US shows, they have decided in 2015 to merge their companies under one label and create FIREGLORY PICTURES LLC in Los Angeles as the common mothership for their transcontinental endeavours. They have created a lively development sandbox, in which filmmakers create thought-provoking narratives for big and small screens.

Christine is thrilled to discover new and diverse voices with a special emphasis on fostering female filmmakers.

Chevy K. Chen is a native Californian, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Los Angeles. Before film and television, Chevy studied to be a percussionist and jazz drummer, but recognized his other passion in life; storytelling. He was accepted into the University of Southern California’s school of Cinematic Arts program and emphasized in cinematography and post production sound. After USC, he freelanced and ran an after school production program in Inglewood, CA where he taught basic and post production to children ages 7 to 15.

In 2009, Chevy’s first producing credit was on the full feature documentary, Jealous of the Birds (JOTB), directed by fellow USC alumni, Jordan Bahat. It was accepted at the Sheffield Doc/Fest, Doc NYC, and Rhode Island film festival, winning Best Original Score at Rhode Island. After JOTB, he continued to work with Bahat in various music videos and productions. In 2011, Chevy joined Master Key (MK) Productions as a visual effects producer and assisted on shows Covert Affairs, Justified, Off the Map, and Suits. His ambitions to produce were continued at MK, where he headed the production department and specialized in Foreign Unit Shoots for Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Covert Affairs, 12 Monkeys, Royal Pains, and Heros Reborn.

At MK, Chevy acted as Senior Vice President and produced in over 20 countries to this date. His international work built an appetite for a transatlantic collaboration, and a common set of tastes and values brought Christine Guenther and him together. From these values and impeccable taste FIREGLORY PICTURES LLC was born.
